What is TISSNET 2026?

TISSNET (Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Entrance Test) is a university-level entrance exam conducted by TISS Mumbai for admission to MA, MBA/PGDM, and other PG programmes across TISS campuses in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Guwahati, and Tuljapur. The PG programme in Human Resources Management and Labour Relations (HRM & LR) offered at TISS campuses is at par with the management programmes offered by top MBA colleges in India.

TISSNET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised university.
• Candidates who will complete their final year of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent by June can also apply.
• Candidates pursuing a 3-year Bachelor’s degree should have passed all the 4 semesters at the time of filling the TISSNET application form.
• Candidates pursuing a 4-year Bachelor’s degree must have cleared all the subjects up to the sixth semester.
• Shortlisted candidates should produce original certificates and mark sheets on the date of the personal interview.
• Those in the final year are required to produce the mark sheets of all previous semesters.

Age Limit

• No defined age limit for appearing in the TISSNET exam.

Work Experience

• Candidates applying for Master of Arts in Organisation Development, Change and Leadership (ODCL) should have at least 2-year work experience in any field (after graduation).

TISSNET 2026 Exam Pattern

TISSNET exam is conducted in the Computer-based Test (CBT) mode in more than 100 centers across 30+ cities in India. Here is the detailed TISSNET exam pattern:

TISSNET 2026 Syllabus

TISSNET exam sections are further subdivided and effectively become six sections. Although GK consists of a maximum number of 40 questions with highest weightage, Mathematics & Logical Reasoning with 30 questions consists of all types of Quant, DI, and LR questions.

• Logical Reasoning: Number Series, Alphabet Series, Statement Conclusion/Assumption/Arguments, Logical Connectivity, Linear/Circular/Family Arrangement, Venn Diagram, Puzzles, Cubes

TISSNET 2026 Registration Process

Candidates can apply for TISSNET in online mode as mentioned below:

1. Visit the official website of TISS.
2. Register with required details, including name, email id, etc.
3. On successful registration, a new login credential will be created.
4. Use this login id to fill the application form with personal, academics, professional details, details of annual income, and caste category.
5. Upload scanned copies of photograph and signature as per the specifications.
6. Pay the TISSNET registration fee as mentioned for each category.
7. Preview and submit the application form.
8. Take a printout of the application form.

Documents Required for Registration

• Scanned copies of passport size photograph (113 x 170 pixels) and signature (302 x 132 pixels) in JPEG/PNG format
• Caste/category certificates for SC/ST/OBC/OBC (NCL)/Kashmiri Migrants (KM)/PWD/Armed Forces candidates
• Income certificate for candidates with family income less than INR 1 lakh or between INR 1 lakh and INR 8 lakh
• Copy of TISS fee challan (if application fee paid in cash)

TISSNET Admission Process

There are two main stages of the TISS admission process:

Stage 1: TISSNET Exam

The first stage is the TISSNET computer-based test with 100 MCQ questions. Candidates are shortlisted based on their performance. The score of TISSNET is only used to shortlist the candidates; it is not used for evaluation for arriving at the final score.

Stage 2: Online Assessments (OA)

OA is conducted for the duration of 20-30 minutes by a three-member panel. The aim of this round is to assess the candidate’s interest in the programme applied. Online Assessment is divided into two components:

Extempore Reflection (20% weightage)

• Panel members will give relevant topics to the programme of study.
• Candidates are required to present a reflection on the same for 2-3 minutes.
• If candidates are not comfortable with the given topic, they have the option to ask for a second topic. There will be no third choice.

Online Personal Interview (OPI) (30% weightage)

• The three-panel members will interact with the candidate to understand his/her motivation, preparedness, and interest along with basic subject knowledge.
• Candidates’ understanding of social and economic factors will be explored.

Score Aggregation

* For management courses, TISSMAT score is added with the PIT and PI score for final selection.
