CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) is a national-level computer-based management entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Till 2018, it was conducted by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Students seeking admission into management programmes from various reputed B-Schools have to appear for CMAT. Candidates must ensure that they meet the following eligibility criteria before applying for CMAT:
CMAT is a three-hour online test which comprises five sections. There are a total of 100 questions in the paper. All the questions are MCQ type questions. Each question in the paper carries 4 marks. For every incorrect attempt, there is a negative marking of 1 mark per question.

Most B-Schools conduct Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) to select candidates for MBA/PGDM programmes post the declaration of CMAT exam result. Each institute conducts the admission independently and according to their academic cycle.
