Introduction
Symbiosis Law Admission Test, abbreviated as SLAT, is a national-level exam to pursue a Law degree from SIU. The candidates who are interested to join SIU, have to appear for SLAT Exam. It is conducted in CBT mode, for a total of 60 minutes time duration. There are 5 sections in SLAT, from which a total of 60 questions have to be answered.
You can apply for SLAT as many times as you want. The only thing is that you have to clear the basic SLAT eligibility to avoid the cancellation of your candidature. Note that the SLAT Exam happens only once a year, so you will only have one chance every year to crack this exam.

SLAT Eligibility criteria
Eligibility varies in different cities, however, the student is eligible for the overall intake if they have:
- Passed Standard XII (10+2) or equivalent examination from any recognised Board.
- Minimum of 45% marks or equivalent grade (40% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes).
Age Limit
There is no age limit for candidates to apply for the SLAT exam. They only need to fulfill the eligibility criteria. All candidates who meet the SLAT eligibility criteria as mentioned above can take the SLAT exams for admission to BA LLB, BBA LLB, BA LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons) courses.

SLAT Syllabus
Given below is the section-wise syllabus for SLAT 2023.
General Knowledge: This section will assess your knowledge of recent happenings and awareness of the world, specifically the last year.
Legal Reasoning: This section will test the candidate’s interest in the study of law, research aptitude, and problem-solving ability. Questions may include legal propositions (described in the paper), and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied.
Reading Comprehension: The unseen passages will be tailed by questions related to the passage. The English section is meant to test the language skill of the candidates, hence, passage-based.
Logical Reasoning: Number Tests, Series Tests, Coding and Decoding, Odd One Out, Statement Arguments, Verbal Reasoning, Analogy, Statement Assumptions, Ranking, Questions n Relations, and Syllogisms.
Analytical Reasoning: Questions on Permutation and Combination, Blood Relations, Mixtures, Ratio and Proportion, Series, Number System, Time and Work, Mensuration, Clocks, and Calendar, Profit- Loss and Discount, Coding-Decoding, Number Series, Probability, etc.

SLAT Registration process
Candidates can register for SLAT by visiting the official website i.e. set-test.org. The last date has already been announced, hence, register as soon as possible to get preferred dates and test centers. Given below are the steps to fill out the registration form:
A. Enter your name, mobile number, email id, category, and city preferred test city.
B. Upload your scanned documents including passport-sized photos and original ID → should not be less than 3 months old.
C. Pick your preferred center and date, allocation will be subject to availability.
Note: No changes shall be permitted after the registration under any circumstances. If any candidate’s application form includes information that is not true, the application shall be canceled.

SLAT Selection process
On declaration of the SLAT result SLS, will publish the list of shortlisted candidates who are eligible for the PI-WAT process. This process will be conducted by the respective law schools.
PI-WAT (Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test):
- PI (Personal Interaction) – 30 Marks
Personal interaction of shortlisted candidates will be conducted by a panel of experts from Industry / Academic. - WAT (Writing Ability Test) – 20 Marks
