AILET Preparation
Introduction
The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Law University, Delhi (NLUD). AILET is conducted annually to offer admissions to eligible candidates in the undergraduate and postgraduate law programs offered by NLUD, including BA LLB (Hons.), LLM, and Ph.D. programs.
Candidates need to appear for AILET 2024 to get admission to the National law school, Delhi. AILET offers 110 BA LLB seats and 70 seats for LLM. This law university is considered one of the best law schools in India. Consortium of NLUs has also been clarified that both CLAT and AILET 2023 will be conducted only once a year. No additional exam will be held in May/June.
Exam Calendar
AILET 2024 can register and submit their applications online at – nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. Filling out the AILET application form 2024 includes steps such as registration, entering personal, communication, and education details and fee payment. The AILET 2024 registration fee is Rs. 3500 (Rs. 1500 for SC, ST and PwD candidates.

AILET Eligibility Criteria
The National Law University (NLU), Delhi sets the eligibility criteria for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2023. Before applying for the AILET exam, candidates should familiarize themselves with the eligibility requirements. If candidates fail to meet the AILET eligibility criteria, their application will be rejected.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have completed their senior secondary education (10+2 system) or an equivalent examination with a passing grade of 45 percent (40 percent for SC/ST/PwDs).
Candidates who will be appearing for the qualifying examination for the 12th standard in 2023 are also eligible to apply for AILET. However, they will be eligible for the admission to BA LLB programme only after clearing the 12th standard with minimum qualifying marks.
Age Limit
There is no age limit for appearing for the entrance exam.
Exam Pattern
AILET is a national exam, it is considered to be one of the most difficult law entrance exams along with CLAT, so candidate targeting should understand the exam pattern. The AILET BA LLB syllabus has been published by the university. There are certain changes to the AILET BA LLB syllabus, which are given in detail below.

AILET Syllabus
The Mathematics and Legal Aptitude sections have been dropped from AILET 2022 onwards. So, instead of five sections (like in previous editions of the exam), we now have three sections. Even though the number of sections has been reduced, the total number of questions stays the same – 150. The Logical Reasoning section now carries almost 50% weightage.
- English section: It carries 35 questions of one mark each for English. The section will be based on topics of General English and grammar such as Vocabulary, Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Inference-based questions, Synonyms, Antonyms, Word Usage, Foreign Words/Phrase, Para Jumble
- GK and Current Affairs Section: It carries 35 marks from the total score. Candidates will be attempting questions from General Knowledge and Current Affairs based on the topics such as International events, UN bodies, Major developments in the areas of sports, geopolitics, and important environmental agreements, Current affairs, Eminent personalities, Sports, Awards and honors.
- Logical Reasoning Section: This section of the question paper will carry 70 MCQs based on the following topics such as Series, Blood Relations, Directions, Critical Reasoning, Syllogism, Analogy

AILET 2024 : Important Documents Required
Before applying for AILET , candidates should keep the following documents handy.
- Class 10th mark sheet and certificate
- Class 12th mark sheet and certificate (if available)
- Graduation mark sheet and certificate (For LLM – if available)
- Passport size photograph with white background (Size should be less than 1 MB, format .jpg/.jpeg)
- Scanned signature (maximum size 1 MB, format – .jpg/.jpeg)
- BPL certificate (if you belong to the BPL category) (Max size – 2 MB)
